Fernando Alonso takes 2nd win of the season

Fernando Alonso wins the European Grand Prix to take the overall lead in the championship.

After the last race in Canada when the Ferrari team got it all wrong on the tyre stops, Alonso wins today to show that he is the man to beat this season.

Spain reach the Semi Final

Last night Spain beat the French 2/0 to reach the semi final at Euro 2012, they will play Portugal to see who gets to the final.

On last nights performance they will need to improve if they are to beat Portugal, 2 goals from Alonso was enough to beat a very poor French side.

The current World and European champions Spain have not yet shown us how good they can play, they were my tip from the start to win the championship.

The only danger I can see is the German side who I believe will also reach the final on the 1st July in Kiev.

Prediction for the final ....... Spain 3   Germany 2

European Grand Prix 2012

Ferrari have new updates available this weekend, lets just hope that they get their race strategy correct.

After the last race in Canada when Alonso was in a winning position, they got it wrong on the tyre change.

Alonso is the best driver on the grid by far, and if the updates work well and they get the pit stops right he should win.

The European Grand Prix 2012 is run on Valencia's city streets and along the picturesque port and this is a wonderful opportunity to visit one of Spain’s most vibrant cities. Although in existence long before, in the 15th century Valencia was one of the Mediterranean’s most important sea ports and trading centres, a magnet for wealthy traders, craftsmen, poets and artists all leaving a rich and colourful legacy. The early Moorish conquerors were responsible for much of Valencia’s architecture. Lush, green gardens and water features were important to the Moors – spaces to escape the heat of the Mediterranean sun and to sit under shady trees – and Valencia has many parks and gardens, much loved and well used by the inhabitants. You can trace Valencia’s history in the cuisine too – Valencia is the birthplace of paella and each town and village has its own special recipe. The land around Valencia is rich and arable and the markets are full of luscious, fresh vegetables, fruits, meats and seafood.

Spain Top of the Group

But what a good game Croatia played, they are very unlucky to be going home.

Now that Spain have qualified they should play better in the next round.

On the knock out stage they will be far more relaxed and know what they need to do to go further, the most dangerous team left are Germany.

El Choro High Walkway

This video was filmed using a hand held Sony camcorder, also of interest the movie Von Ryans Express with Frank Sinatra was filmed there.

The gorge is famous for the very dangerous path called Caminito del Rey (King's little pathway). The path gave access to a hydro-electric plant and took its name after an official visit by Alfonso XIII of Spain in 1921. Official access to the path was removed in 2000 on safety grounds. In June 2011, the regional government of Andalusia and the local government of Málaga agreed to share costs of restoration of the Caminito (including car parking and a museum) of €9 million. The project will take approximately three years to complete.[1] Many of the original features will remain in place and the new materials that are used will be in keeping with the old design.

Spain Demolish the Irish

So no great surprise then Spain now need to at least draw with Croatia to ensure qualification.

A good football lesson handed out in a 4 0 win for ESPANA

McCoist Resignation ?

It appears that Fat Sally does do Walking Away then, there are reports that McCoist has fallen out with Mr Green at Rangers.

Tottenham Job

So Harry has been sacked for a poor finish to the season, he was not offered the England managers job because of his dodgy dealing in the transfer market in the past.

Just goes to show that the game is riddled in corruption, so who will be the next manager at Tottenham.

David Moyes at Everton is the bookies favourite just now, but would he be happy to manage a team that thinks fourth in the league is a great achievement.

Moyes should bide his time at Everton the time for Fergusson at Manchester Utd is almost over, this will be his last season in charge.

All change at the top then, Tottenham will end up with some Johnny foreigner in charge is my prediction, and end up mid table next season.

Harry  would be an ideal man to take over at the new Rangers, he knows all about tax evasion.

Glasgow Rangers Liquidated

Rangers are gone and good riddance

whatever you think or hear about a Newco, it will be a shadow of the club Rangers were in the early 80s, never mind today.  But still, we have plenty to focus on as we prepare for the enormous events that lie ahead.

Will they be allowed back into the SPL ?

Will Mr Green get away with buying their assets on the cheap ?

Will they have to start all over again in the Scottish 3rd division ?

Will they be stripped of the titles they won illegally ?

All in All a very GOOD DAY    LIQUIDATION DAY

Ferrari Decision Costs Alonso

A bad decision by the Ferrari team not to bring Alonso in for new tyres cost him the race in Canada today.

When Hamilton came out of the pits he was more than 15 seconds behind Alonso, the Ferrari team should then have brought in Fernando for a tyre change.

Well at least it gives us a 7th winner in 7 races this season, I bet Alonso will be choked not to have won though.

Spain V Italy

Euro 2012 is now underway and today Spain take on the Italians, with the players that Spain have they should win this with some comfort.

They are the currrent champions and I beleive they will go on to keep that title.        Spain
